Bio E-Flex
Caltex Bio E-Flex is the same as a product known as E85 sold in the United States, Brazil and Europe. It contains up to 85 per cent ethanol blended with petrol. Ethanol is ethyl alcohol, the same type of alcohol found in alcoholic beverages. Caltex retails the fuel with a composition of between 70 and 85 per cent ethanol blended with regular petrol, depending on the time of year. This is similar to the seasonal variation in ethanol content overseas and complies with both the US and EU standards for E85.
Biomass crops
Biomass is biological material, such as corn, switchgrass, and oilseed crops, that can be converted into fuel.
