Can my vehicle use biofuels?

Today, most modern vehicles will run at peak performance on E10 or biodiesel blends, as long as the biofuel blend is produced by a reputable supplier, such as Caltex Australia, and meets the Australian standard for fuel.

If you have a vehicle and are unsure of its capacity to take biofuels, or which blends of biofuels are recommended, we suggest you check your manual or contact the manufacturer.

E10 in cars

All car manufacturers and importers now provide information on each vehicle’s ability to operate on ethanol fuel blends of up to a maximum of 10%. This is subject to the fuel meeting the octane requirements of the vehicle.

E-Flex in cars

E-Flex is an alternative, renewable fuel that is manufactured using a blend of up to 85% ethanol. Cars capable of running on E-Flex are being built for the Australian market.
